Postponed from an extremely wet summer night in 2016, this lovely walk starts at Drummy Woods car park just outside Tarland (where the mountain bike trails are).
It was a beautiful evening and we walked up the track to accompanying commentary by member Jan Healey. Her excellent articles on the now mainly deserted and removed Drummy Woods Crofts, were published originally in the Echoes.
The Manse referred to is the granite building on the left which you can see among the newer houses as you look back towards Tarland from the car park.
To access the walk we turned left out of the car park and walked up the hill. At the top croft we retraced our steps to the ford and took the next path on the right which returns you via the woods themselves (note : somewhat overgrown with broome).
It was a wonderful evening, with gorgeous views and really interesting historical detail. For the full details see the attched PDF : Drummy Woods Crofts Walk
